Little Tree Books and Coffee is a charming little cafe located just around the corner from the Acropolis Museum. You can either sit inside the bookstore or on the patio of the cafe. This is a great place to enjoy a tasty breakfast and a drink before heading to the museum. I enjoyed a yogurt bowl and tea while reading a book. It was a very relaxing, chill location. Also, we bought some postcards and a book so all around it was a great spot to grab breakfast.

Usurum Brunch & Cocktails is another cozy cafe with a charming indoor-outdoor style. This brunch location has plenty of cocktails, sandwiches, and sweet options. I enjoyed a Churros French Toast - definitely a sweet treat well worth a visit. This location, along with Picky Brunch & Specialty Coffee, Minu, and the Little Kook, is in the same Psirri neighborhood. Additionally, Fairytale Athens is another aesthetic location good for a drink and an Instagram-worthy photo opportunity.

Picky Brunch & Specialty Coffee is a charming brunch spot. The space feels indoors, but it is an outdoor space with lush greenery covering the ceiling. The food was delicious, and the space was aesthetic. Unfortunately, when we were there, it started pouring, so we had to quickly hide elsewhere undercover, but while the sun was out, it was lovely. If you want a variety of options, sweet and savory brunch, this is a lovely spot to stop.
This cafe is a concept store and a place to relax or work. This image is of the upstairs, which is a light, airy, green space perfect for answering emails or sipping a turmeric drink.
Minu

Mon - Sun, 8:30 am - 10 pm
Minu is both a store and a cafe. Unlike many of the other options, this is truly a cafe in which you can get work done, enjoy a coffee or tea, or read a book. Many of the other ‘cafes’ on this list are truly more like brunch spots, while this is definitely not a spot for a sit-down meal. This cafe is modern, calm, and a unique space within Athens.

Little Kook

Mon - Sun, 9 am - 12 am
Little Kook is a cafe inspired by many different fairy tales, such as Alice in Wonderland (which was the theme when I went). This street area is all-themed and maximalist to the extreme. Even if you don’t come to try something at the cafe, it’s a treat to see all the decor. The food and drinks at the cafe are likewise maximalist and larger than life (and quite sweet). I would recommend only buying one thing or going with a few friends and sharing some of the fun.

Yiasemi is a cozy, homey cafe with delicious food. The atmosphere here is perfect, and it was a lifesaver when I needed to escape the summer heat. The portions are a bit small, but it’s truly a lovely place to be.

Wild Souls Athens is a cafe and natural food shop. I stumbled upon this shop during my first visit to Athens, and it has yet to disappoint. They have drinks, salads, and sandwiches. They are also known for their halva, which I would also recommend trying. This is definitely another cafe to check out and one a bit closer to the Plaka area!

Ugly Rolls
Evripidou 9, Athina 105 61, Greece
Mon - Sun, 9 am - 5 pm
This whole-in-the-wall cinnamon roll shop, Ugly Rolls, has freshly baked goodies. It’s a great place to try different flavored rolls, including chocolate, pistachio, lemon meringue, and tiramisu. This location is also right around the corner from another great brunch spot called The Makers Athens. The Makers Athens boasts delicious food and a sleeker, more modern design. I would recommend pairing these two. Perhaps grab something savory at The Makers and then grab a sweet roll to take on the go.
